Through a series of strange and unexplained encounters with other worldly phenomenon, safety and predictably fostered by the home environment become a stage for psychological, emotional, and metaphysical tensions to be played out. In my work I employ my love of science fiction as a conduit to reenact these tensions, which reference issues the genre addresses, such as the fear of technology and the fear of the unknown- while connecting, searching, and interacting with that unknown to discover more about ourselves. I present these scenarios under the presumption that the normality of daily routine and the objects associated with banality, when transformed and given unconventional attributes, reveal the internal and external conflicts we face daily.
